Cadet Advisory Council

The Cadet Advisory Council (CAC for short) is a cadet run group that gives cadets a voice about the activities that are a part of the cadet experience.  The CAC meets on the first Thursday every month.  Recent achievements of the Long Island CAC include an NCO (Non-Commissioned Officer) Academy, Airman Academy and Aviation Day.  Cadets plan and participate in all aspects of these events with guidance from experience CAP Adult Officers.

Farmingdale Memorial Day Parade 

  • Report Time & Location:  0845 at the Northside Elementary School 
  • Pickup Time & Location:  1200 at the Pavilion on Main Street, Farmingdale

    Uniform of the Day:  Air Force Class B Blues WITHOUT tie.  All uniforms must comply with CAPM 39-1.  Cadets without Blues must wear Cadet Alternate Uniform - White shirt (ironed), black pants, shined black shoes.

    Required Items:  CAPID, (2) CAPF-161, CAPF-60-80 (Cadets), 1 16-oz. Water Bottle or equivalent, snacks.

    Note that this is a warm weather event.  Bring sun tan lotion and pre-hydrate.

Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach 

  • JOIN US FOR THE BETHPAGE AIR SHOW AT JONES BEACH.
    • This is Long Island Group's biggest recruiting opportunity of the year!  If the weather is good on both days, in excess of 300,000 people will be at the Air Show!  . 
    • We're setting up a display and recruiting tent so people interested in Civil AIr Patrol can meet and speak to cadets and adult officers, learn about our three missions and hear about our history going back to World War II.  
    • Our display will be located between the Central Mall and the East Bath House.  Best parking is Field 4 or 5.

Uniform - BDU / ABU, BBDU, Corporate (senior members) or Alternate Cadet Uniform.  All uniforms must comply with CAPM 39-1.

Required Items

- Cadets - CAP Form 60-80 and two CAP Form 161's

 - Senior Members - CAP Form 17 and two CAP Form 161's

 - Bagged lunch & snacks - NO FOOD WILL BE PROVIDED - Due to the volume of people attending the air show, long lines can be expected at concession stands.  IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT ALL MEMBERS BRING THEIR OWN LUNCH!  NOTE - we have no refrigeration available - Members should plan accordingly with a small cooler bag.  Each member should bring a minimum of three 16 oz bottles of water or the equivalent.

 - PLEASE make sure you have eaten prior to the event.

Cold Finger Run for Camp Adventure

Join us for the Cold Finger Run for Camp Adventure. The run is a benefit for the MoRE Camp Adventure program. This program is dedicated to enhancing the lives of children, families and young adults coping with cancer and life-threatening illness.

Join us for our first ever Movie & Museum Day at the Cradle of Aviation.  First we will see the 1PM showing of the movie "Living in the Age of Airplanes" on the IMAX Theater Screen.  Then we'll go through the museum together as a group to experience their terrific collection of aviation and space travel artifacts.  Parents, friends, family & prospective cadets are welcome!

Cost - $13.50 per person (regular price is $18 - $20) - bring extra if you wish to buy a snack or souvenir.

  • JOIN US FOR FLAG PICK-UP AT CALVERTON NATIONAL CEMETERY.
  • PARENTS, FRIENDS, FAMILY ARE WELCOME TO ASSIST!!!
  • Gabreski & Grumman Squadrons - report to Section 14 (when completed please report to Section 41).
  • All other Squadrons - report to section 41.
  • RAIN DATE - SUNDAY JUNE 10th at 1230 lasting approximately two hours.
